This full year course is offered as an alternative to US Government or as a Middle School course.
Semester A covers topics of: Basic Concepts of Power and Authority; National Institutions of Government; Local Institutions of Government.
Semester B covers topics of: Society; Being a Citizen;Policy and the Citizen
Students are introduced to the elected officials of government, systems of representation, and various offices and branches providing governmental services to citizens.
Virtual field trips to courtrooms and interviews with politicians and law enforcement officials allow students to connect their studies with real-life personalities.
